I decided to join Tuesdays with Dorie at the urging of Em, The Repressed Pastry Chef. I thought it would be interesting to see varying interpretations of a dessert all made from the same recipe.
This week was my first time as an official Tuesdays with Dorie baker. The task was to create a Summer Fruit Galette. To be honest, I had no idea what the hell a galette was, so I turned to my good friend google.
Turns out a galette is pretty much a pie without the pie pan, they can be savory or sweet and have a slightly rustic look to them. I decided to use the fruit in my refrigerator which consisted of some strawberries, blueberries and nectarines. I made two small galettes one was nectarine and the other was strawberry and blueberry.
All in all this recipe shaped up quite nicely and I was pleased with it’s visual appeal. The taste? Well, to me it tasted like fruit pie!
To find the recipe, head over to Michelle’s blog, you can also check out the Tuesdays with Dorie website for more info. Enjoy!
Oh… be sure to check back tomorrow for a fun giveaway!

What clue little rustic pies. :) I bet they were delicious. (I’d have to hit google to to figure out what a galette is, so thanks for doing that for me, hehe)
