Looking for something quick to serve with a bowl of soup or to whip up for brunch? Bisquick biscuits take just minutes to make and can even be made with homemade Bisquick mix!
We all need some comfort foods these days, right?
Carbs are my ultimate comfort food. Maybe you have figured that out by now if you’ve been following me for any period of time.
Comfort food carbs that require very little effort to make are really at the top of my list right now, though. Anything I can make in less than 30 minutes is a win.
Which means I’m making a lot of Bisquick biscuits.
Quick? Check. Easy? Check. Satisfy my carb cravings? Check, check, check.
Easy Bisquick drop biscuits
When I shared my Homemade Bisquick Mix with you, I promised you that it could be used to make any of your favorite Bisquick recipes.
We’ve made Bisquick pancakes, Bisquick muffins, and even Bisquick breakfast casserole. And now these easy Bisquick muffins.
Bisquick drop biscuits would be a great first recipe to make with small kids. With only two required ingredients – Bisquick mix and milk – these biscuits are so easy that anyone can make them.
I like to make these easy biscuits on nights that we’re enjoying recipes like Broccoli & Cheese Soup or Guinness Stew. Since they only take minutes to prep, they’re a quick solution if you forgot to buy a loaf of crusty bread or don’t want to make rolls or garlic knots to go with your soup.
You can also serve them with butter and jam or apple butter, or comforting sausage gravy if you want to make them for brunch. Or dress them up with whipped cherry butter for a holiday dinner!

Pin ItHow to make Bisquick biscuits
As mentioned before, the only required ingredients for these simple biscuits are:
- 2 1/4 cups Bisquick mix
- 2/3 cup milk
I almost always have my homemade Bisquick mix on hand, so that’s my go-to for this recipe. But if you keep store-bought Bisquick on hand, that works great, too.
You can also use whatever milk you like best. Since both homemade and store-bought Bisquick are dairy free, feel free to use your favorite dairy-free milk alternative if you like.
To make the biscuits, follow these 3 easy steps:
- Stir together the Bisquick mix and milk. The dough will be soft and sticky!
- Drop the biscuit dough in spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 450℉ until golden brown (8-10 minutes)!
With such minimal prep before they go into the oven, I bet you could be pulling fresh biscuits out of the oven within 15 minutes!
Recipe variations and other flavors
The recipe in the card below makes the most classic Bisquick drop biscuits. But you can consider just a starting point.
It’s easy to add extra flavor to these biscuits with added herbs, spices and mix-ins.
For a super simple flavor boost, brush the hot biscuits with melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven. Make it garlic butter if you’re feeling fancy.
Try stirring in some mix-ins when you stir together the dough. Some ideas include:
- ¼ to ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1-2 tablespoons of chopped chives
- 1-2 tablespoons of chopped green onions
- ¼ cup of cooked and crumbled bacon
- 2 ounces of crumbled goat cheese or feta cheese
- Several grinds of fresh black pepper
You could even mix and match some of these options to create your favorite flavor of biscuit! Combining cheese in the biscuit with garlic butter and parsley on top is how you get everyone’s favorite Red Lobster biscuits.
Just be careful not to add too many mix-ins or your dough might not come together.
7UP biscuits are another variation of Bisquick biscuits, using ingredients such as 7UP (or Sprite) and sour cream to make a light and fluffy biscuit.
Whether you’re looking for a quick side dish for your dinner table or a breakfast option you make make while half asleep, these Bisquick biscuits are sure to fit the bill!

Bisquick drop biscuits make a great base for strawberry shortcake.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Nancy! Happy baking!

@Nancy, they sure do. I simply donโt want strawberry shortcake unless made with these biscuits. Yummy
Bisquick makes great dumplins also. Just make drop biscuits and pinch off bits of the dough and drop in like you would a regular dumpling. Bisquick mix is great for ones that can’t make regular biscuits from scratch (like me). I use buttermilk in place of regular milk. Love the flavor the buttermilk adds to the items that calls for milk.
That’s a great tip, Mary! Thank you so much for stopping by.

Hi There!!!!
I use to make Bisquick Biscuits when I was younger and I am so glad I found the recipe on your blog/site (the original recipe is no longer printed on the box where I found it in the 1970’s – if it is, maybe I have not looked for it in a long time…)
But, you are correct, this recipe is easy to prepare and goes well with soup and stews -or- just with a lot of butter and jam or honey!!!!! Thanks Jamie

So happy to hear you enjoyed the recipe, Maureen! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your feedback!

@Maureen, I noticed the new box of Bisquick has a small recipe for the biscuits…but it is not the same. They use veg oil …I have never used oil …glad I found this recipe!!
I added a bit of sugar, Ocean Spray cranberries and Orange zest. Pretty tasty.
Yay! So happy to hear you enjoyed the recipe! Thanks so much for stopping back and leaving your feedback!

I live in NZ and a friend sent me a box of Bisquick (At great expense I must say) as I really missed it. Making biscuits to have with homemade soup for dinner.
I hope you enjoy the biscuits! Thanks for stopping by!

@Jay, stumbled upon this comment and wanted to say from a fellow American in NZ, I buy my bisquick from Marthaโs Backyard in Auckland- I believe they also ship online? Relatively cheap, maybe $20 or so for a big box? Worth checking out!
These are very very bland as is. Iโm sure theyโre better with mix-ins but just know that they wonโt be worth making without at least adding the melted butter, if not mixing in other ingredients. The baking time and ingredient ratios were spot on though.
might have made them too big so i had to cook longer
I made these to go with beef stew and they were great! Thanks.
So glad to hear you enjoyed the recipe, Tron! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your feedback!

Hi, can I put peaches in botton of pan and add bisquick mix on top of peaches and bake
Hello! I haven’t attempted this so I am not sure of the result. If you happen to give it a try, I’d love to hear how it turned out. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Jamie
@Claire, i do! one cup of sugar, one cup of bisquick, one
cup of milk and two cans of peaches!
@Claire, fyi, I make a fruit crumble bake to dish out with a scoop of ice cream. In a 8×8 Pyrex dish, one can of any pie filling, 1/2 box of yellow cake with 4 tbls.of melted butter, put cake mix over the filling and bake for 30 min at 400. Yum
Probably a good recipe but lots of useless talking at the beginning of the recipe as always.
This comment is also useless talking.
“This comment is also useless talking.”
LMAO
You must not visit blogs very often. That was not a lot of “useless talking”; that was relevant information. No rambling stories about visits to Grandma and the state of her home only to eventually arrive at the point of the post.
Thanks to the blog author. I will be making this blog a bookmark on my browser.
Glad you get it, Kate! There are so many recipe sites online that simply have just the recipe, this is a recipe blog. Very different.
@Jamie, Good for you, Jamie!
@Girl, Didn’t anyone bother teaching you good manners…I guess not…
@Girl, Your useless…I get your coment but the post or blog was not click bait or product placement…it was siccinct…always have fun!
