If your calendar looks anything like mine – you’re probably only a couple of days away from crazy. My December is brimming with holiday parties, potlucks, shopping dates, and family gatherings. And with all these festive commitments usually comes food and lots of it.
Along with arming you with a bunch of cookie recipes, I also wanted to provide you with a couple of simple appetizers that are sure to make your party prep a little easier and of course – more delicious!
We couldn’t get enough of this Feta Cheese Ball. We both kept sneaking into the fridge to steal a nibble throughout the day, even though we were supposed to be saving it for my co-workers.
The feta, cream cheese, oregano and garlic blend harmoniously to create an irresistible appetizer that will keep your guests congregated around the appetizer table long enough for you to finish all those last minute dinner preps that didn’t get done because the doorbell started ringing.
I love the fact that it’s simple, requires minimal prep work and it doesn’t require you to turn on the oven – especially when there’s cookies to made! Surround the Feta Cheese Ball with a variety of crackers, flat bread, and olives and you’ll create the perfect party platter for any event.
It’s hard to resist a great cheese ball recipe!

What a fun way to use feta! Will definitely have to make this.
I found this dip on Annie’s Eats this past summer. My friends & I are feta fiends & love anything & everything revolving around it. When we get to together, it usually involves a bottle (or 4) of good white wine, a block of feta & an amazing olive mix from Whole Foods. (Annnddd maybe some chocolate, who are we kidding here.) Anyway, I found this recipe & it has since become one of our absolute favorites :) Thanks Annie!
Spinach Feta Dip
Ingredients:
2 cloves garlic
ยพ cup mayonnaise
ยพ cup sour cream
4 oz. crumbled feta cheese
ยฝ tsp. grated lemon zest
10 oz. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
Ground black pepper, to taste
Directions:
In the bowl of a food processor, pulse the garlic until finely chopped. Add in the mayonnaise, sour cream, feta and lemon zest. Process until smooth, scraping down the bowl as needed. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, stir in the spinach and season with black pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
So good :) I recommend this to anyone & everyone! We usually serve with pita chips or some kind of seedy crackers (Vinta, anyone?!)
Btw…your cheese ball recipe looks literally AMAZING. That is for sure next on our list of things to make for girls night!
I’ve never made a cheese ball with feta before, and I have no idea why! Gorgeous presentation too; I usually just surround mine with boring old crackers. ;-)
I’m jealous of your schedule filled with eating engagements! At the moment, mine in filled with college, college, college. I’m angsting for that moment when I walk out of my last final exam and can drive home to cook my heart out in my parents’ kitchen. Feta cheese ball sounds like a good place to start. :)
