We all need some comfort foods these days, right?

Carbs are my ultimate comfort food. Maybe you have figured that out by now if you’ve been following me for any period of time.

Comfort food carbs that require very little effort to make are really at the top of my list right now, though. Anything I can make in less than 30 minutes is a win.

Which means I’m making a lot of Bisquick biscuits.

Quick? Check. Easy? Check. Satisfy my carb cravings? Check, check, check.

Easy Bisquick drop biscuits

When I shared my Homemade Bisquick Mix with you, I promised you that it could be used to make any of your favorite Bisquick recipes.

We’ve made Bisquick pancakesBisquick muffins, and even Bisquick breakfast casserole. And now these easy Bisquick muffins.

Bisquick drop biscuits would be a great first recipe to make with small kids. With only two required ingredients – Bisquick mix and milk – these biscuits are so easy that anyone can make them.

I like to make these easy biscuits on nights that we’re enjoying recipes like Broccoli & Cheese Soup or Guinness Stew. Since they only take minutes to prep, they’re a quick solution if you forgot to buy a loaf of crusty bread or don’t want to make rolls or garlic knots to go with your soup.

You can also serve them with butter and jam or apple butter, or comforting sausage gravy if you want to make them for brunch. Or dress them up with whipped cherry butter for a holiday dinner!

How to make Bisquick biscuits

As mentioned before, the only required ingredients for these simple biscuits are:

  • 2 1/4 cups Bisquick mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
Ingredients for bisquick biscuits arranged on a countertop.

I almost always have my homemade Bisquick mix on hand, so that’s my go-to for this recipe. But if you keep store-bought Bisquick on hand, that works great, too.

You can also use whatever milk you like best. Since both homemade and store-bought Bisquick are dairy free, feel free to use your favorite dairy-free milk alternative if you like.

To make the biscuits, follow these 3 easy steps:

  1. Stir together the Bisquick mix and milk. The dough will be soft and sticky!
  2. Drop the biscuit dough in spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake at 450℉ until golden brown (8-10 minutes)!

With such minimal prep before they go into the oven, I bet you could be pulling fresh biscuits out of the oven within 15 minutes!

Recipe variations and other flavors

The recipe in the card below makes the most classic Bisquick drop biscuits. But you can consider just a starting point.

It’s easy to add extra flavor to these biscuits with added herbs, spices and mix-ins.

For a super simple flavor boost, brush the hot biscuits with melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven. Make it garlic butter if you’re feeling fancy.

Try stirring in some mix-ins when you stir together the dough. Some ideas include:

  • ¼ to ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1-2 tablespoons of chopped chives
  • 1-2 tablespoons of chopped green onions
  • ¼ cup of cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 2 ounces of crumbled goat cheese or feta cheese
  • Several grinds of fresh black pepper

You could even mix and match some of these options to create your favorite flavor of biscuit! Combining cheese in the biscuit with garlic butter and parsley on top is how you get everyone’s favorite Red Lobster biscuits.

Just be careful not to add too many mix-ins or your dough might not come together.

7UP biscuits are another variation of Bisquick biscuits, using ingredients such as 7UP (or Sprite) and sour cream to make a light and fluffy biscuit.

Whether you’re looking for a quick side dish for your dinner table or a breakfast option you make make while half asleep, these Bisquick biscuits are sure to fit the bill!

Years ago we were anchored in a nice little cove aboard our boat. I wanted to make biscuits for breakfast but we ran out of milk. So, I grabbed a can of beer and mixed it into the Bisquick. They turned out so fantastic we have been making Bisquick and Beer biscuits ever since.

I just made the biscuits… I had to borrow vegetable oil… because to to popular belief…all of us don’t have this in the cupboard. Also the new box what ever has been added to the dry mix or taken away hasn’t led to improvement… I ask..”why the change.”..Im glad I just have a small box..

Hello there. I bought Bisquick and it has changed…my biscuits come out crumbly and not big ..I am using your recipe this weekend…Bisquick must have changed their mix along with packaging! Thankyou for saving my strawberry shortcake biscuits!!!

These turned out great! Just like the ones my Mom used to make. My son has dairy and soy allergies, so I used almond milk. My brother say he has also just used water with good results. The basic recipe makes 8 fairly small biscuits. So allow at least 2 per person. I added butter on top of mine when I ate them with bacon and eggs, but they are so rich I could easily not have used it.

I make these twice a week for my husbands biscuits and gravy in the morning. I make them vegan using soy milk and they are great. The mushroom gravy I make has a lot of flavor so the basic biscuit is perfect and so quick & easy
